FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Florida Author Rodney Biddle Releases Florida Winery Trail, Celebrating 500 Years of Wine History and the State's Thriving Farm Winery Scene
Tampa, FL — March 2026 — Florida author and journalist Rodney Biddle has released his latest book, Florida Winery Trail, a comprehensive guide to Florida's certified farm wineries that weaves together tasting notes, winery profiles, and a sweeping 500-year history of winemaking in the Sunshine State.
Few wine lovers realize that the birthplace of American winemaking lies just outside of Jacksonville, Florida — a distinction that sets the stage for Florida Winery Trail's rich historical narrative. The book explores the origins, challenges, and evolution of Florida wine from its colonial roots to the thriving agricultural industry it is today.
At the heart of the book are Florida's Certified Farm Wineries — state-recognized producers crafting wines primarily from Florida-grown agricultural products. Every winery featured is family owned and operated, offering readers an intimate look at the people and passion behind each bottle. From producers creating truly one-of-a-kind Florida varietals to those channeling the classic traditions of California wine country, the wineries profiled range from intimate boutique operations to larger regional destinations — each with its own distinct personality and charm.
Florida Winery Trail is one of two new titles Biddle has released this year, both currently available on Amazon. The books will also be available through Biddle's own upcoming online bookstore, which will feature his full catalog — including earlier works on Ham Radio and emergency power planning.
A writer for more than a decade, Biddle made a deliberate pivot in 2025, trading technical writing for a new passion: exploring Florida's food and beverage culture firsthand. He has since traveled extensively across the state, visiting wineries and distilleries to document the flavors, stories, and people that make Florida's spirits and wine scene unlike anywhere else in the country.
